 Eleven years ago on a September afternoon, a friend handed me a magazine article about a guy in Washington, DC that was broadcasting his home life via an Internet web cam (Sean Patrick Live). I had no idea that after reading that article, that my life direction would be altered and that I would begin an exciting new chapter in my life.
Four months later (without any computer experience or web design training of any kind, with only determination, patience and stubbornness) on February 28, 1999, I launched a 4 page web cam site that would become texaskidd & friends.
Over the past 10 years, texaskidd & friends has been more than just a hobby, but a real part of my life, an extension of myself. It has been an exciting, exhilarating, challenging and often times frustrating adventure along a road of self discovery. Ten years of my life that I would not have traded for any amount of money. As with any adventure, our travels brings us back home. Our lives are enriched by the experiences and our souls are recharged. Today, I return home and end this awesome adventure, only to embark on a new adventure, preparing to write yet a new chapter in my book of life.

This year we celebrated 10 years online!!! I say "we" because this web site was made up of 4 unlikely gay men from different parts of the globe. Who shared a common idea that life is worth living and if you don't believe us, take a look at ours... hee hee.
Over the span of ten years, each of us have grown and now, it's not that we don't want to continue this web site, it's that our priorities have changed. Life takes us down different paths based on the decisions that we make. Ace & Bruce are now a couple in a committed relationship, Song and Aviar have their respective lives with significant others and texaskidd is embarking on a new career choice.
Change is good, we need a change of scenery from time-to-time to make our lives more interesting. Now is our time to experience new sights, new challenges, new goals, new aspirations. It's our time for change.

Dear tk,
 I've sat with my laptop for many times to try to write something, but couldn't really bring myself to it, the website means something very very special to me, remember when I first emailed you for a password to access the X rated gallery?
My world changed from that very moment, I starting to log on  to your cam, watching you doing whatever you were doing, and I was so very happy when I first time entered the chatroom, it was a test for my english, and I was getting so exited when I can make the communication with you across half of the earth!
Starting by then, I met Zepip, Song, Robert, Pickycat ... and most important, I met you. Someone ever so special to me, introduce me to a different world, give me courage to be gay  and happy, make me want to explore the world out there, and love, even now when I think back, I still feel amazing for the years we were sharing our love together, so many nights we would just talking about everything, who knows why we had so many things to talk about  and you have to force me to go to  bed and get some sleep, so that I won't be late for College and every evening, when I get off class, I would go back home immediately to turn on the PC and wait in the chatroom for you to come online and we can catch up, and tell you what happened during my day, and listen what you have been doing for your day
I've never doubt that I was in love with you and look up at you for almost everything, I remember once you've told me that people can die in their sleep, I've got sooo worried about  you and kept monitoring your sleep for many days, and there's one night your cam gone frozen and you weren't show up in time in Chatroom, I was anxious a lot, and made Zepip nervous about you too, and I almost made him call your phone from France, hee hee.
And remember? You're the one who leaded me into the  world of cooking! Bruce should thank you so much for what you have done for me your Ace is turning into a great chief and cook fantastic food! I wish you could taste my dishes, I'm gonna make you so proud
I have so many memories when I think of our website, and I  just feel once I write this, everything will be certain, there will not be texaskidd & friends anymore. It will always be in my heart and holding a great space that I will never forget  I can't image how hard it is for you to make the decision, it's like your baby wish you won't be too sad for closing it down, I think it means a new beginning

If you are lucky, through out your life, you will find a place to be to make friends, find new friends and share humor, the daily happenings of ones life, to share the highs, the lows,  the in-betweens and the so so events of your life. I found that at texaskidd & friends for many of the ten years that it has been online I had that experience with the other Cam men on the site, as well as all the outstanding chatters in the chat room over those years. You are in my heart, my thoughts, my dreams and in my prayers.
I thank Texaskidd, for making and doing all the behind the scenes activities of the website itself and for the generous friendships with Song, Ace, Bruce and Zepip and of course Texaskidd, that we have made. As well wishing for all of them to have all their days filled with greatness or more so to the level that they have enriched my life. To all our visitors I also thank you for coming and checking out this Internet experiment. You have been nothing but the best.

I just want to say thanks a lot, even I was in the website for short time!
I remember when I first time to join this (texaskidd & friends), because of my Friend- Bob.
He invited me to join the chat room , during that time I was in Japan and I also had homesickness!
Texaskidd & Friends, for me is not just a website. it's also a place for friends sharing emotion and connecting to each other.
It is also our home !
In 10 years, I have knew few people here, also I met some in real life, they all have a beautiful heart, even some people doesn't understand us!
I believe someday Texaskidd will be back, if not it's in my heart already!

"Closure" that's what this is all about. Each of us (as well as many of you, our visitors) have memories associated with  our web site. It's been a very personal experiment for each of us, as we put our lives, our opinions, our thoughts, our emotions and our hearts online for you to share and experience along with us on our journey.
Today, we close this chapter in our lives and move on as the opening pages our own new adventures are unfolding in front of us. New plots, new characters, new situations, new challenges... all of this is what makes life such a fabulous adventure. I am so very happy that we have had the opportunity to share our experiences with you and that our adventures may have enriched your life in some meaningful way.
So, until the paths of our journeys cross again, all of us at texaskidd & friends thank you and wish you a life full of laughter, love and compassion.
